The report Implementing IATI - Practical Proposals (January 2010) explains the business case via the principle of Publish once, use often.

The initiative gives proper attention to standards in the IATI Review of Standards (June 2009).

Remarks

  1. To appreciate the complexity of the value constellation in relationship to the difussion of standards, some insights can be gained from the Landscape of standards approach of the CEN ORCHID Workshop CEN website link. In this workshop there has been an emphasis on the heterogeneous actor interests at stake in the standards diffusion and internal / external progression of maturity. For details, see: ftp://ftp.cen.eu/CEN/Sectors/List/ICT/CWAs/ORCHID_CWA2-2_Standards_Landscape.pdf .
  2. A Classification Interoperability solution will be instrumental in enhancing aid effectiveness and improving transparency, as indicated at a Global Alliance for ICT and Development discussion, and addressed at Classifications Interoperability Initiative (Actor Atlas page).
