United Nations Peacebuilding Commission
The United Nations Peacebuilding Commission was created with resolution 60/180 and resolution 1645 (2005) of Dec. 20, 2005. The Commission was explicity charged, among other things, with “advising on and proposing integrated strategies for post-conflict peacebuilding and recovery.” The creation of the Commission reflected a commitment by the international
community to undertake sustained engagement in countries emerging from conflict.
